Gary

I was born in the Shenandoah Valley and, up until the age of five, my family moved between there and Culpeper several times. We eventually moved to Culpeper and never left. After graduating from Culpeper County High School, I went to Atlanta for College. After college, I returned to Culpeper and met my wife, Sara. We have been married for 33 years and have two daughters and two grandchildren.

As a child I attended church, but due to lack of knowledge of Jesus and his love, I stopped attending church shortly before I was 10. I then spent the next forty years running from God and pushing him away. But because of his love and grace, I repented of my rebellion and gave control of my life to Jesus.

We have been members of Mountain View for almost ten years. During this time, God has led me to go on mission trips to Columbia, Uganda, Honduras. I’ve also gone on three trips to Kentucky with Hope for Appalachia and done several deployments with Christ In Action to help with disasters in different parts of America.

God has changed my life so drastically in the last few years. I can’t wait to see what he has waiting for me as I move forward following his lead. I am so honored to be asked to serve the church body as an elder and pray that God uses me to help build his kingdom.
