Juanita

I was raised in a family of 6; three sisters and two brothers in Boston Virginia. I attended Mt Lebanon Baptist Church regularly growing up.  My grandmother was my first inspiration for wanting to know more of and learning about God. I lived with her for 9 years and can fondly remember her reading the Bible faithfully every night. I graduated from CCHS in 1971. Larry (my high school sweetheart) and I were married in November 1971 and moved to Madison County. We were blessed with two great children- Patricia in 1975 and Michael in 1979; grandchildren Evan in 2004 and Julie in 2006.  I enjoy spending time with my family.

My sister Ruby invited me to Mountain View in August of 2009 when I really sought a change in my life. Through life groups and the ministry at MVCC, I came to Christ and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior in August of 2010. I was baptized in June of 2011 and became a member of Mountain View. What joy it was to receive the gift of salvation. I can truly say “Life is Good”… so much sweeter now. Baptism was a beautiful celebration of my salvation through Jesus, even in the not so clean pond. When I think of what Jesus endured for me, the not so clean pond was no sacrifice.

I started volunteering for Mountain View in August 2011 and was hired January of 2013 as Administrative Assistant part-time.  I have the privilege of working with an awesome group of people and Pastor.  It has been a rewarding, enjoyable experience and a blessing to me.
